I LOVE all the levels of these math books!!!! I'm middle aged with 2 science degrees and even I learned some things while using these books in my homeschool.  One of the best parts is when you buy the books, you get a code which allows you to print off the worksheets in the book on your computer.  That way you can use each book with a few kids at once and you don't have to buy the extra stuff.

Wish I would have purchased this sooner!

My son was having some regression with math.  We started this book and things have quickly turned around.  I'm impressed with how quickly he's remembering things, and he's impressed with how quick the lessons are.

Where was this my whole life?

Ok I'm not a mathematician at all. I "passed" algebra with a D, failed Geometry the first time around and had to take it again in order to get a B. So as you can see, my math skills are deplorable.  After the fiasco that was 2020, I pulled my kiddos to homeschool them, and we tried different methods to teach math.  Ummmm...that was an unmitigated disaster, and my daughter tried math u see, some other program and Khan academy.  She got almost three years behind in math as what she was learning was taking forever. I heard Khan was great, but she was so confused. Enter Learn Math Fast.

I found it online searching for a way to catch a kiddo up in math. My daughter was 14 and at a fifth grade level.  With LMF, you start at the beginning, and by beginning, I mean 3 + 2. The reasoning behind it is that it's so easy, your child will build up confidence. If you're an adult, it gets you through all of the areas you were lacking. So kiddo started in August and has flown through 3 of the 7 books.  It is mid Feb and she's starting book four. If she continues at the rate she is, she will get through the entire series by the end of next year having gotten through algebra and geometry right on time! It's been a life saver!

I am a homeschooling parent. My oldest child did fine with our previously chosen math curriculum, but my second really got stuck at learning the multiplication facts and got way behind. It seemed an impossible task to ever get her back up to grade level. She dreaded math and just felt no good at it.
I ordered this in hopes of helping her get back to grade level in an efficient way. It has been a huge success!! She finished the first book in 3 weeks and can’t wait to start the next. She actually reaches for her math first now. This has solidified the basics for her and built her confidence so much.
I’m using this also with my 3rd grader (who I’ve discovered was getting by with his math by using a lot of finger counting!) and my 5th grader. My fifth grader absolutely melts down if I try to time the tests, but as long as I skip the timing part, he’s doing great also and really building a much better recall of the math facts that will support him so much as he advances into higher math. And now that I know we can get through the material so quickly, I can be patient to let him build this foundation without feeling pressure to rush him along so he won’t fall behind.
So grateful for this program!!

After a few weeks of using it [LMF] we are learning a different way to add and subtract simple math equations i.e. 8+6 and my adult (apparently stupid) mind is blown!  I have been adding these the hard way and memorizing facts for nothing and we are in chapter 1!!  A homeschool parent recommended this.  Since we have been having trouble moving forward in our Math curriculum I decided to try it.  We're still in the "easy stuff" that we've already learned but it's hands-on and not rushed.  I love that we can print out additional worksheets for free or buy a book of extras.

We recieved our math books about 2 1/2 weeks ago. My 5 year old is saying his 5's (addition and subtraction) in under 50 seconds already. My oldest boys (11 and 13) are already half way through the book. There is no fighting. In fact, my youngers are eager to beat their times. I do like how addition and subtraction are taught together and how straight forward this program is.

I am so thankful I stumbled across this curriculum!! As a homeschool mom for over 10 years with children in various grades and some in private school, this book has tremendously helped me and my children! Even though some of my children are no longer homeschooled, I use this for my children who are currently in school, to get a better understanding when they are struggling with a math concept. Thank you for this curriculum! May God bless you as you have blessed others making it easier for children and adults to “learn math fast”!

To whomever may read this, For more than 10 years now as a home-school teacher, my wife and I have struggled greatly w/teaching math to our five children (they range in age (now) from age 6 to 16). This became especially difficult when they got into fractions and beyond. Until this point, it has always seemed unnecessarily difficult to keep each child on track, improving, and moving forward in a clear, confident-inspiring way (for them as a student AND for me as their math teacher). My point here is that despite using several other more expensive, and highly-recommended math programs, and despite the fact that I too am very strong in higher-level mathematics (which is why I took on teaching our children math in the first place), it always baffled me as to how difficult it was (it seemed then) for them to actually comprehend and retain what they were taught. And when you juggle three different grade levels of math (each of my older children is 1 year behind the other), this inherently made my job much more difficult in tracking each child's individual progress throughout the year. This one subject had nearly become my day job. This is no longer the case, thanks to this LMF curriculum. This new curriculum almost immediately proved to be a game changer. My first "best-friend" in the program was the placement test. Although a simple and somewhat brief test, after each of my three older children took the placement test, it immediately opened my eyes to each child's individual weak points. Thus, I was able to not only immediately focus on strengthening said weak area but using the math books, I was able to move them forward, incredibly quickly, to higher-level math. My oldest daughter for example, truly hated math by the end of last year. She had become so frequently flustered and confused that just lost interest in math. Yet this year, after using these materials for a somewhat brief time (only a month or so), and addressing her weak areas first, she almost immediately moved right back into her grade-appropriate math level but almost more importantly, actually told me that she is really enjoying math this year. This is evident not only in her face but as she turns in her algebra work to me, 95% of the time, she gets 100% of the problems correct. It helps of course, that she no longer struggles w/multiplying and dividing fractions (which she did struggle w/horribly by the end of last year) and undoing that damage, only took one week to correct, using the preceding workbook (and clear methods to solve such problems) to catch her up. I'm quite honestly amazed at how all three of my older children are succeeding in math this year, using the same set of materials. This ability to use the same set for all children btw, is made possible only because of the incredible amount of downloadable primary worksheets (that are also in the physical books) but can be downloaded and printed, saving the books from being marked up), many other workbook resources, additional worksheets (that are not in the books, which is great), and of course, answer keys. Ultimately, I give this program a 10 out of 10. I now feel like I have COMPLETE control over, and confidence in, teaching my children math effectively, from this point forward. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! for this impressive set of materials that you came up with. Sincerely and gratefully, Robert Hartwell

My daughter is autistic and has a serious mental block about math. Before we found these books, she could never get past basic fractions. She loves the straightforwardness of these books and has made huge progress since we found them. Now, she is working her way through pre-algebra with no trouble. She is so proud to be able to face these long equations full of letters and numbers and symbols, and actually be able to work through the problems.

I tutored my grandson over zoom. We began with the idea that I would drill him in multiplication and help him memorize his facts, a skill he failed in school. After one session, I realized he could do little more than add 2+1--At. Age. Nine! We went back to the beginning with LMFS. In only a few weeks, he was proficient in addition and subtraction. I wondered what they had been doing with him in school to allow him to fall so far behind. After a few months, he mastered the basic operations. Sadly, he fizzled out of our tutoring sessions once he caught up to grade level. However, I'm so grateful for this easy-to-use method. With varying levels of success, I've taught math to children of high to low learning abilities with many different systems: MathUSee, Saxon, RightStart, Video Text, Life of Fred, Understanding Mathematics From Counting to Calculus, and several others. Like AlphaPhonics, Learn Math Fast System isn't full of bells, whistles, and distracting graphics, but it beats them all.

I just wanted to let you know how much my daughter and I love your books. We are what everyone terms “covid homeschoolers”.  Homeschooling has always been in the back of my mind, but I never thought I could teach math so I never did it, until now.  We pulled our daughter Fall of 2020, I knew she had some gaps in math learning but didn’t realize how much she actually didn’t know.  I purchased your books and in Aug 2020 we started with Vol 1. As of today 3/12/21 she is about to complete Vol 3.  Her understanding in math is beyond compare to where she was a year ago. I teach each lesson and even my math understanding has improved from what I learned in the 80s and 90s.  Thank you so much for creating this series of books. My daughters math confidence and ability simply blows me away. I feel she is so much better prepared with math now. No fluff just the facts. I love the simplicity. I can’t wait to see how the remaining books work.
Thank you so much,
Tara, a very grateful mom

I just wanted to send a little note to thank you for creating this program! My daughter started the Learn Math Fast System about a year ago. She was a junior in high school and completely, totally, hopelessly stuck in Algebra 1. Having homeschooled for 19 years, and already graduated two children from our homeschool, I knew kids learn at different rates, but even I was getting a little worried she might just never move on.
Since her future plans include a degree at a 4 year school, my daughter was becoming very discouraged and defeated. She had decided she hated math and was horrible at it 🙁 We had tried several popular math programs through the years, and finally I found, and bought, her the Learn Math Fast System.

All I can say is, "Wow!!!" My daughter started book 1 in March, and by July she had successfully completed all 7 books! The short lessons, clear explanations, and relevant problems not only helped her understand the concepts, but greatly built her confidence. She realized she *can* do math! She moved straight into MathUSee Pre-Calculus in September, and has easily maintained an A average. Woohoo!
At the beginning of the year, I started my next two children on the System. Both my son who understands math easily, and my math adverse youngest daughter, are moving ahead at their own pace with success. I am so happy to have found you!
Thank you so very much, Jena W.

I found Learn Math Fast through a series of other home schooling moms after testing my middle school students and finding that their Charter school had failed to teach them math successfully. So far, they have completed one book and have moved into their second (so now level 2) with in only 4 weeks of receiving the materials. They have a much greater understanding of the process and have much higher confidence in themselves and their mathematical abilities. It has been a game changer, and I highly recommend it.

In fact, once we started this process, I had my HS student go back through a few sections to refresh himself on areas in which he was struggling. He was able to move back into his current math level quickly and far more successfully than before using Learn Math Fast. ~Jamie J.

Greetings, Thank you for taking care of my last order of books. Your service is very friendly, generous, and professional. In my 20 years homeschooling, I've never seen books that explain math in such a practical and concise way than in "Learn Math Fast" books. There's a great satisfaction when I see my 13 yr. old daughter (who has never liked math), apprehending math concepts so fast! I would have used these books for my older children if I have known about them before they graduated, but I'm so glad we are using them now. Thank you so much, Mrs. Krieger

We are a homeschool family in Alabama. My 13 yr old daughter is using Vol. 1. From age 8, she has been talented in music, has spent alot of time practicing flute and going to competitions; I have had to spend alot of time caring for aging parents, therefore she never was taught very much math. With the pandemic, the music experiences have stopped, and she is now learning math. She started Vol 1 on Aug 8 and is now on L 33 and is doing very well. We are very thankful for your program, it doesn't make her feel like she in an elementary math book. She is learning it quickly so far. Thank you again, Donna

I found your website while I was googling for information about kids having trouble learning multiplication facts. We had been through so, so much in getting my son fluent in multiplication facts, and I could not figure out what was missing! After I landed on your article about this topic, and read through many reviews, I decided to purchase Volumes I & II for my son. I had a hunch that your system was on to something important.

Over the summer of 2020, I went through essentially all of Volume I with my 6th grader. Right away, I realized that your system leaves no stone unturned, which was a huge weight off my mind -- no need to go off on tangents!

My son had a LOT of resistance to our learning sessions, but we did not give up. Even if it took multiple sessions to get fluent with basic addition facts, we just kept working at it. I did give him leeway on the 30-second tests because I know he does not do well with timed tests. However, I did look for a sense of ease with the math facts before we moved on to the next chapter.

When it comes to long division and various types of multi-step multiplication, my son needed reinforcement and practice-practice-practice, so that's what we did. I reassured him that it takes a lot of repetition to get good at a tennis serve or a fancy fishing knot, and math is no different. Again, I loved knowing that your book would cover everything in due time, so we could focus on the skill at hand and not have to worry about anything else.

Now we are at the start of my son's sixth-grade year, and he is doing distance learning due to COVID. This has some benefits because when it comes to math, I can oversee *every* aspect of his assignments and determine right away if he's struggling.

He knows by now that being in Mom Math School means that *nothing* will get swept under the rug! He knows that we will look at something every which way, with manipulatives, number lines, examples, etc. -- and do lots of practice -- until we call it good.

And here's the thing. Over the past week or so, he has made several very positive comments about math. Just today he said, "I'm really proud of myself. Last year, I couldn't even do long division." Also (this is blunt): "If we hadn't done all that math review this summer, I would be the dumbest kid in the class." He also listed math as his favorite subject in an "About Me" poster.

My son's future with math is much, much brighter now. Perhaps he will always need some extra support when learning new concepts, but the confidence he has gained over four months of working with Volume I will make all the difference, I am certain. I am recommending your books to anyone who will listen.

Shelly left this recommendation on our Facebook Page: I have children of all learning abilities, including one with multiple learning disabilities (dyscalculia is one of them), and they are all thriving with this math. We homeschool and had bounced around from one math curriculum to the next to hit on each of their learning styles, but all that did was create gaps and frustration. This curriculum helped us get back to basics and move forward with flying colors. My kids finally understand and enjoy math! Thank you so much!

Amy recommended Learn Math Fast on our Facebook Page and wrote this: We almost opted not to continue past Algebra 1 in high school for my eleventh grade daughter, after doing it twice because it would not stick. On a whim and a recommendation, I purchased the high school geometry. It's just her speed, teaches all the important concepts with some practice but not too much to overwhelm her. It's been a breath of fresh air. We're enjoying it so much, we're thinking about doing math again next year! Crazy!

November 13, 2019

We were using an online based math curriculum for our 7th grader since August, but were noticing it was lagging behind (our opinion). We purchased Learn Math Fast and are now getting somewhere! We've been using it for a month, and are now caught up to where the online curriculum is. Plus, the order that LMF presents math concepts (we feel) is more helpful in journeying into pre-algebra, and higher math, which is now just a few weeks away--instead of months and months away! LMF is easy to use, the answers are in the back of the book, and you can print out all of the work pages from their website. Their customer service is excellent as well. I reccomend LMF. ~Autumn

Just checking in to let you all know again how much your curriculum has blessed our family.
My 16 year old daughter (dealing with depression & anxiety) is about halfway through Volume 5. I want you to know that LMFS's straightforward presentation and supportive instruction to the student has made a HUGE difference in my daughter's mental health and confidence. She completes a lesson every evening and her book is always waiting for me to check first thing in the morning. She seldom misses a problem. She enjoys math now and is also working harder at her other subjects as a result. She has gained confidence that I can detect spreading into other areas of her life, like her interactions with others and how she spends her free time. I can't tell you what an answer to prayer this has been!!!
A few weeks ago I also switched my 12 year old daughter to LMFS. She was struggling with Singapore math and then I switched her to Saxon (which made us both cry). I backed her up all the way to LMFS Volume 1 for a summer review and she, too, is enjoying the program and loves feeling like she is rebuilding her foundation and making steady forward progress.
LMFS has addressed some very important needs in our homeschool and I will continue singing its praises. ~Lisa

Good evening,
After completing your last book Volume VII (High School Geometry), do you think the following class would be a good next math course: [link to a Precalculus and Trigonometry class]. My homeschooled son applied for duel enrollment at a nearby college that suggested he take a four-credit precalculus class, but they do not offer it locally; therefore, I’m looking for something comparable. The class they suggested is called MATH 125 so I’m trying to match it with the HSLDA class. He and I would like for him to finish his last two years of high school (11th and 12th grade) under someone else’s teaching and accountability. If he goes for pre-engineering, the credits are not needed so I don’t need to go through the effort of duel enrolling him in college for this. Plus, I’m familiar with HSLDA already.
Thanks for any feedback you can provide. Amy M., Homeschool Administrator

When LMF asked Amy for permission to post this email, she suggested we add this line, too:
“The creators of Learn Math Fast offer support long after the materials are purchased! They have been partners in my children’s education from volume 1 through dual enrollment in college. I couldn’t be happier with my choice of a math curriculum.” Thanks Amy!

Thank you again and I wanted to let you know that the program has been tremendous for my daughter thus far. She has depression and anxiety (improving thankfully) and she really likes the straightforward layout, the instruction to the student, and the uncluttered assignment pages. She's working quickly thru Volume 3 as a review and we hope to use the entire rest of the curriculum for the remainder of her high school math. Truly, this is the most enthusiasm she's had for math (or any school subject) in a very long time. I also have several children below her, and though I already have them placed in different programs, I could certainly see myself using your curriculum in the future for them as a change or supplement. Thank you - it's just what we needed! ~"Lisa, mom of 10"... I do have ten children, but I'm not (at this time) using the program with all of them. I can see that it IS very amenable to large families, though.

I use it [volume 1] for tutoring grades 2-3. I focus on reading but often times those same students struggle with math facts. I love your gradual approach to learning the addition and subtraction facts alongside each other. One student said he was bad at subtraction, but now he can see that if he can add the facts, he can do the subtraction, too. ~Nana the tutor

...We love the progress she is making with your program. She is my youngest of 4 kids, all of whom are educated at home. She is my first to have troubles with math. She is 13 years old and at the beginning of this year she was still struggling with math, not able to remember multiplication facts despite trying many methods. She also was very discouraged thinking she was dumb with math.
My goal was to not only improve her math skills but her self-esteem. Both have improved drastically and we are so pleased!
With many thanks, Amy N.

We even compete to see who can get the answer faster, using different tricks suggested by JK.

I really like how well the lessons are structured and explained, and especially enjoy the tricks offered. And the fact that the worksheets can be printed from the website means that you can reuse the book with your next child, pass it along, or even sell it in the future. Personally, I’m planning on keeping them for my future grandchildren!

In my opinion it is the most straight forward and comprehensive curriculum I have seen, and it is well worth the price. And do purchase directly from the website, it is easy and well worth it, and it supports the author directly!

We love Learn Math Fast! As a homeschooling Mom of fourteen years, I have never found a math program I would recommend until now. We have a bookshelf full of all the popular (and not so popular) math courses, and we have struggled with all of them. We are finishing up Vol 3 with the goal of completing Vol 4-6 by the end of the school year. At that point I’m not really sure how to proceed. Would she be ready to do a dual enrollment math class at the community college or should I repeat a more challenging Algebra 2 class, or should I focus on SAT math prep? I know you can’t give a concrete answer but I was just wondering what your thoughts were on possible options for how to proceed based on your feedback from other families. Thanks ~Janet Brown

Answer: When she is done, she will be ready for dual enrollment.

I asked him what he thinks is different about it. He told me (in very few 15 year old words, lol) that "LMF gives a clearer, easier explanation without all that other distracting stuff that just wastes your time. It gets to the point."

And there you have it. We're happy, he's happy, and no more weeping and gnashing of teeth. Win, win!

Hi, We are just starting Vol 5. Is there an special calculator we need to purchase for our son as we move forward? I am so very thankful that your curriculum has given our son a second chance. He seems to be understanding things he never could before. I think a better foundation has been laid since we restarted with your earlier volumes. And from the girl who got D's in algebra/geo in high school, I am thrilled that he has an opportunity to get a better grasp on it than I did. Thank you! ~Cindy Albin

So far so good! I am using this program for our 2 boys, a Junior and a Freshman, who are homeschooled. I wasn't confident in their math skills. We are able to quickly go through the lessons, and they are learning some new "tricks". We are hoping to get through all seven books this year. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to make sure their kids really "get" math.

We have been using Learn Math Fast for about 6 months. Our oldest was trying to get ready to reenter the public school arena and was struggling with her pre-algebra. We stumbled upon LMF and decided why not? Things we love. 1. I purchased the entire set and can use it across multiple grades. My 8 yr old is in Vol 1, my (now) high schooler did a refresher with Vol II and III. 2. It is clear and easy to understand. We have done Life of Fred, Math U See and several others, this one seems to click better with my girls. 3. Cost. For what I would spend on one year of the other products, I can almost buy the entire LMF series. Two thumbs up.

Maybe this review is premature, but I already see results. I began working with my grandson (9 going into 4th grade) this summer for 30 minutes per day using Google Hangouts. He's quite intelligent but struggled to memorize or grasp the four basic functions. He struggled with 3+2. After 2 weeks, he can add and subtract double digits in his head. Whenever he reverts back to counting instead of visualizing, his speed and accuracy are nil. As soon as he gets back to subitizing, he's like a human calculator with immediate, accurate answers. It's a miracle. Hopefully, we'll make it through the book before school starts in the fall. Hopefully, he will submit to tutoring throughout the rest of the series over the next couple years. This series makes children appear smarter than they are, OR maybe it turns them into geniuses. BTW-I have not been paid in any way for this unbiased review.

I bought volumes 1, 2, & 3 for my 17 year old who hated math. None of the other programs we tried made sense to her. I heard about this program and decided to give it a try. It's only been a few weeks but today I she was exclaiming to her siblings and father about how much she loves math now, now that she finally understands it!

After trying LMF for 4 weeks, Julie gave it 5-Stars and wrote this:
Our 13 year old son just finished Volume 1 and excited to start Volume 2. We used Volume 1 to review and fully master long division and decimals, something that eluded him using Life of Fred, Teaching Textbooks and Math-U-See. This book delivered our goal. The pace was just right and we strategically used the worksheet problems by doing just a few after each lesson and then then doing a few more in subsequent days as review. The only two things we found wanting were with some of the worksheets and test questions. In the final chapter on weights and measurements some worksheet problems required rather complex conversions not addressed in the lessons. And other worksheets/test questions on multiplications and divisions needed more space to compute them while a few problems didn't line up the numbers too well. It could just be a space issue in trying to limit the number of pages of these books. We ended up regularly recopying the problems horizontally on lined notebook paper. Other than these minor issues, we are extremely grateful for these books!

We tried everything we could think of to help my oldest daughter get through algebra including three well known math curricula. She always hit a brick wall about half-way through. I decided to try Learn Math Fast. I started her on book 1 and she was able to work through the books quite quickly. She told me she didn't realize there were some basic concepts that she hadn't understood until Learn Math Fast. Everything was explained so clearly. She took a college placement test and passed every section including math to be at college level. The admissions person told us that she scored higher just having two years of homeschool high school than a lot of public school graduates.
Thank you, Learn Math Fast!!!

Hello,
Today, my grandson said, "Before we started working on this math, I only knew a couple of facts like 1+1 and 2+2. Other than those, I felt like I didn't even have a brain. Now it's easy for me. I like math." His progress is slow but steady. At first, he struggled with 2+3. Now, he manipulates columns of double-digit addition as well as double-digit subtraction in his head quickly. I'm going to keep sending you updates. Thanks for helping me help this very intelligent boy. ~Grammy G.

Hi,
We love your system...I’m wondering whether you will ever offer statistics, particularly for eighth grade (ish) or above.
Thank you! My daughter LOVES your system and we are achieving really excellent results with it.
Best wishes, Karla in MA

One thing I will say is for 3 years now I have been trying to get my daughter to memorize her multiplication facts. I have tried songs, videos, books, I have purchased kits specifically for memorizing them and nothing has worked! This year we started with book one and it has not been super easy or anything, But she is getting it. She has her facts down and it has made a world of difference 🙂 She told me the other day that long division is fun!! I am amazed and so excited to keep going and learn along with her. ~Adrienne

Thank you for compiling this information. I helped my husband complete his GED and when we did all of high school math in less than 2 months I was astounded. Now, I'm glad to have the chance to help our daughter in the same way. She's an only child being homeschooled like yours, sand she's little shy about math...for now anyway 🙂

Thanks so much.  After many fails prior to LMF, we backed up to Vol 2 and our son ("9th" grade level) seems to have a much clearer understanding!  We don't expect perfection, but when you know your child has a brain capable of getting better than low 60's in other programs, you'll do whatever you can to see if there are more options for them to at the very least get a healthy grasp on it.  We are having much more success than previous so far!  And there is no weeping or gnashing of teeth from either of us! Lol.  THANK YOU!!!

My name is Joseph Massey, and unlike most of these reviews I am not a mom, but a high school student who has completed the learn math fast course. I started book 1 in the 5th grade and completed all of the rest of the books by my 9th grade year. Before I started this course I really struggled with math and didn’t understand it very well. My mom showed me this curriculum at the end of my 4th grade year, and I didn’t think it would help me any better than the other 4 math courses I have taken. As I progressed through the books it felt like I was still doing the same old stuff and not learning much. I decided to try a lesson from the curriculum that I was struggling in to see if I knew anything, I ended up knowing everything and got a 100 on that lesson. I tried a few more and also noticed I was doing those lesson in 15 minuets when they should have been taking almost an hour. As I progressed through this course, math became so easy. I am now a junior in high school and have taken all the way up to trigonometry, and plan on taking calculus my senior year. Also after high school I plan on going to college and majoring in engineering. Learn math fast really helped me throughout my middle school years, and if it wasn’t for this course I wouldn’t be where I am now.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Mergens,
I ordered the first four volumes of LMF for my two teenage daughters in February and told you I would let you know how things go...Earlier this month I went ahead and ordered the final three books it that tells you how much I love this system. My almost-16-year old daughter is in lesson 15 of Volume V as I write this, and my almost-15-year-old is in lesson 8 in Volume IV. These are two kids who have never been confident where their math abilities are concerned--until now. They are doing so incredibly well with this curriculum. I can't say enough good.

This is our fifth year homeschooling, and I could probably count on both hands the number of tear-free days in math before we started this. When I found this curriculum, I was really about at the end of my rope, wondering how I would ever get them through high school math. This has truly been an answer to my prayers.

I don't have to harp on them to do math anymore! One day I just happened to tell my older daughter not to forget about math, and she said, "Are you kidding? I like math now too much to skip it!" Wow is all I can say. This is a person who has hated math for as long as I can remember. My younger daughter just finished Volume III yesterday, and when she did the lesson on y-intercept, even though this was not something she hadn't seen in her previous curriculum, she said, "Wow, I finally understand what the y-intercept is!" I had no idea she didn't even know what it was before. I am so thrilled about how this is clarifying for them so many concepts they haven't gotten before.

There is probably a lot more I could say, but I'm going to stop for now. I just didn't want to go too much longer without letting you know what these books have done for my daughter's (and me). I am really looking forward to seeing them having success on the ACT and in college math because of your books.  Thanks again!  ~Brandy in Missouri

I love this Curriculum Especially for my daughter who feels bad because of her Math Level. She has dyscalculia and your curriculum is Amazing for children with this learning difference. Your Curriculum builds confidence!
I feel that your curriculum works for everyone. Gifted/Adults / Learn Disabilities/ Kids with Lack if concentration and kids that are busy.
Here is my current review after using your curriculum since the beginning of the year. With my daughter and now with my son with multiple learning disabilities. I had to adjust it to me Reading the instructions step by step (he is Dyslexic)but it is still working for him and he is enjoying it as well.

I feel that your books should be in every Homeschool and Public School.

My daughter struggles with math, English, etc. She is six and has epilepsy among other things. So her memory is bad and she takes a while to remember things.  Since we started Learn Math Fast she has started excelling at her work. It has only been three days but she is remembering, she is doing it on her own. She is amazing!  I do not get anything from this post, but I was waiting and hoping to win, and I never did. So when they had that sale I went for it. I bought everything hoping and praying it would work.
So far I am not disappointed.  ~Michelle C.

We got our order yesterday. It looks great! We're looking forward to learning those fractions in a few weeks! My daughter is really enjoying this curriculum. She's definitely doing great with this approach to learning math. Her little brother is starting book 1 and doing very well too!  Thanks to your "ministry", I believe both of them are going to really soar with their math skills!...I've told a couple of my friends (one home schools and one does not) about your program, per their request. Personally, I think all schools should use this approach / curriculum. It just makes sense how it builds one skill at a time, in a logical manner, if I might add. : )  ~S.A. in Michigan

When I first discovered your curriculum, something I read led me to believe that it is not a complete curriculum. I thought it went only through Algebra, but I was happy to try it because I am trying to help my 16 year old son understand Algebra.

He started Volume V, and it’s working! I can’t tell you how many math programs we’ve tried, but this one is really helping him understand and master the concepts. The way he is explaining his math to me now confirms to me that he understands it.

I just need to know if Volume V is considered a complete Algebra I course, and I can’t see to find that information.

Thank you. ~Sandi

LMF Replied:
Hi Sandi,
I'm so glad to hear that volume 5 is working for your son! Woo-hoo!
One of the main reasons LMF is not considered a complete curriculum is because we don't teach how to tell time, the Calendar, Roman Numerals, and Tally Marks. Those topics are considered math, but we don't cover them. Volume 5 covers Algebra 1 completely. The difference between algebra 1 and 2 is kind of a gray area. Not every author covers the exact same topics in algebra 1 and algebra 2. What we claim is if a student reads volumes 1 - 7 and scores well on all the final tests, then that student is ready for college level math. Most students place at college algebra or pre-calculus after reading our series of books.
More questions? No problem, I'm happy to answer them all. You can call us too for more detailed answers.
Thanks for using the Learn Math Fast System,
~JK Mergens

That information is really helpful. My son has been working crazy hard to prepare himself for a program that our community college offers. He will need to test into pre-calculus, and I think you have given us our first hope of his being able to achieve this goal. He will plan to finish Algebra I this week and complete Algebra II and Geometry by the end of this school year.
Thank you again, so much! ~Sandi

A Recommendation from a Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia Specialist...WOW!

Thank you JK for creating Learn Math Fast.  I originally bought the  Learn Math Fast books for my own son I homeschool. It is wonderful how you explain math concepts so simply and directly  I own Lexia Learners, a tutoring company for students who learn differently because of Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia and Learn Math Fast is now the only math curriculum we use with our students! I recommend this program to anyone who has struggled to learn math using another program. If your child has never struggled in math, your child will love  Learn Math Fast, math just makes sense!

Good Morning, I have been using the Learn Math Fast vol.1 with my son for the past several months and I just want to tell you how pleased I am.

I started homeschooling my son during the ending of 5th grade. He basically forgot all the math he supposedly learned in school. The teacher just kept advancing and advancing with the math work in school, but there apparently wasn't enough help for the kids who needed the extra help, so the kids got dragged along and the kids didn't learn anything.

I tried a few different curriculums/methods with him throughout the years but he wasn't really grasping much and something always seemed to be lacking...I found your book while I was buying some items on the Educents site. I decided to take the chance and pray for the best.

It has been by far the best math decision I've made. My son is almost 14 now and finally knows all his multiplication facts. We are almost done with vol.1 but I already purchased vol.2. He's no longer memorizing and forgetting, or frustrated with not understanding math. Everything flows so easily with the book.

I love the way the concepts are explained and I feel like I am reading a letter written to me by a friend who understands my son's way of understanding math. I love the size of the book, the spaces for jotting down numbers and notes. The very good step by step way of explaining what is also written.

I've sent all my friends and family screenshots of the book so they'll understand how my son went from dreading 4x3 to dividing with fractional remainders with ease. It sounds silly but honestly, it's a true miracle.

My son left school (5th gr) hating it and feeling defeated with not being able to keep up. The teachers showed no compassion at all. He was convinced that he was stupid and had issues and just couldn't do math. It's been a journey, but through faith and prayers.. here we are.

I am so thankful to the person who wrote this book and how it was done with empathy for the kids who would use it. The wording is on point. It's really a wonderful thing. God bless you all, Millie F.

My 13 y/o duaghter has always struggled with math. Memorizing math facts was nearly impossible and made math frustrating. Although whe understood the concepts and operations, it would take her 5 times longer to complete a problem because she was not strong in memorizing her fact families. We had tried flash cards, on line programs, games, etc to no avail. Then I found Learn Math Fast. I was intriqued...especially because it was written by a fellow homeschool mom. My daughter was skeptical at first. She had grown to despise math and started to feel like she would never get it, but I asked her to try her best as alsways and take it one lesson at a time. She did the first lesson...and then the second...and then the third and then she was hooked. She loves how short and easy the lessons are. Not overwhelming at all. And the best part is she is now able to complete her math in just a few minutes. Her confidence has been restored and Math is now her favorite subject! Now that hshe has completed volume 1, she is excited to move on to the second one. Not only is the material the best, but so is the customer service. I am so grateful to have found this program and plan to use it for the next two kids, as well! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! ~Melissa Bragg

Great price for a great program. We have used Vol 1 and 2 with my kids. It's a great program. My daughter will be doing Vol 3 in Nov/Dec and then will work on Volume 4 this summer. If you complete Volume 1-4 you have done 1st grade threw PreAlg. I started with vol. 1 for my 13-year old math phobic child. He finished lesson 38 this week and told me this is the best math program we've ever used, and we've tried just about all of them. ~ Kate W

August 30, 2016

Throughout our 6 years of homeschooling, we have tried it all: Math U See, Saxon, Miquon Math, Beast Academy, Math Mammoth, Life of Fred, and tons of videos and other generic workbooks. Learn Math Fast is the first system where my now 13-year old son didn't end up in tears. It is a keeper for us, and I plan to use all seven volumes. Learn Math Fast might not be the perfect system for everyone, but it works with how my son thinks. The tips and tricks are invaluable and has really helped him grasp the subject matter. And, he is retaining the material. Although he is not a fan of the 30-second and 1-minute tests, I can see a marked improvement since we've started doing those daily. Even when there are lessons that do not have those oral tests, I go back and choose a random test for him to quickly go over.

The lessons are the right length and pace for my son not to feel overwhelmed, and the worksheets seem to have just the right number of problems so that the information is reinforced through practice but doesn't take hours to complete! When extra reinforcement is needed, I appreciate that there are extra, free supplemental worksheets also available on the Learn Math Fast website. I also print off the lesson worksheets so that my son does not write in the book. I like to keep my books clean!

Finally, the layout of the book itself works well for my son who has just finished therapy for convergence insufficiency (where his eyes did not come together to focus on text, causing him to see double). There is plenty of white space and the book is in black and white with no distracting colors or annoying "cutesy" pictures that are included in most other elementary math books. ~M. An email from the same customer:

Learn Math Fast = No More Tears! I started using LMF volume I with my 13-year old homeschooler in the late spring of 2016. This summer/fall we have resumed (after a 2 month summer break) and I was amazed at how much he had retained. This math system works. And, for the first time in years, we are getting through math lessons without tears and without my son feeling inadequate.

Yes, in the beginning of volume I he was despondent about working through addition and subtraction, but when I pointed out how quickly he would be back into multiplication, and how the book covered some addition and subtraction tips and tricks that he'd never learned before he was able to get over those feelings of doing "kid work".

And I love the simplicity and clear explanations. It really helps my son to focus on the task at hand and to grasp the information. I plan to use the entire Learn Math Fast series. It is the only one that has worked for us, and we've tried them all!

Just want to thank you a million times for your great product.
My math-averse daughter sat down this morning and did three hours of math and then thanked me for buying it. We’ve been struggling to find a product that will work for her since we finished up with Prof B math.
Any chance you are looking at writing a Trig program? Calculus? Statistics? ~Shez

My son was using Life of Fred Algebra and kept saying he didn’t know the answers to the problems. I would encourage him to go back through the chapter, but he said that it just wasn’t explained clearly. Now, don’t hear that as a criticism of Life of Fred Algebra. Two of my sons used it successfully. I realized that I had purchased a copy of Learn Math Fast’s Algebra years ago. I got it out for him and he’s been working on it this summer. He recently told me that he likes it 400% better than what he was using. “I can actually understand it!” he said. ~Melanie Wilson GrammarGalaxyBooks.com

I have been using your books this school year with my 9th and 11th grader. I have books 1-6 and will be ordering volume 7 over the summer. I had emailed you last year and you were so kind and gave me much encouragement. We are working through book 5 at the moment. We will continue math all through summer in hopes of finishing through book 7 by end of next school year. At the time I was juggling these books with CTC Math and decided to stop juggling and stick with LMF.  ~Jeri C.

10 days after purchasing Volume 1, Amanda wrote this email to us:
Hi, I just received volume 1 and we love it. I would like to order volume 2 and possibly volume 3 if you have a package deal to save a bit... I will be sharing again this week in my homeschool group page about how excited we are. I even learned a few tricks myself just reading through the book this morning 😀

...I'm mainly using it for my twin girls that are dyslexic. We spent years remediating reading and slowly slogging through math. We now are able to focus more on math and a traditional curriculum is just too slow for our purposes.  Thanks so much!  ~Amanda

This was cut from an email by Mellisa after her daughter read some LMF books:

Quick update on the kids while I'm here.... remember [my daughter] who you spoke to on the phone a while back? She has decided to go and see what high school is all about. She should be in 8th grade, but they've put her into 9th grade and advanced placement Math.

My 11 year old son is excited to be acing his Algebra 1 worksheets. A lightbulbs really gone on for him in the last couple of books. I can see the gears turning in his brain and he's asking questions about "what if" the problem looked like this instead, how would that affect the answer etc and seems to be working on a different level to me! Even more awesome is he's not afraid to experiment with his ideas to see if they work. He has the lessons/problems figured before I finish going through it with him. Just seems to come easy to him now. Even more incredibly sometimes he'll still pause while he recalls some of the timestables but is able to mulitiply these binomials/trinomials in the blink of an eye. Love this time with them!
Thanks again for your awesome books. I'm still recommending them to people I meet and hope you pick up new customers!

Just wanted to give you a heads up. I left a review in one of my homeschool Facebook groups and apparently over the past week or two 5 moms have ordered for their kiddos. I'm so pleased with Learn Math Fast and can't thank you all enough!... I went to a homeschool high school prep workshop and parents were stressing over high school math. I told them "not me, I have Learn Math Fast and you should too!" 🙂  ~Natasha

Cathy Duffy just updated her review of the Learn Math Fast System to include Volume 7. Here are some of the highlights from Cathy's review:

"The Learn Math Fast System is a unique approach for teaching math that condenses the process while still stressing conceptual understanding. "..."The series is more efficient than most other programs partly because concepts taught in a previous level are not retaught and reviewed over and over as in most other math series."..."The thorough and clear explanations might make the Learn Math Fast System an appealing option for parents with a poor math background who need to learn right along with their children as well as for students working independently. In addition, the fact that the books are self-contained and reusable coupled with the publisher's provision of free printable worksheets and tests makes them affordable." I just want to say thank you! We received the books and have been busy working through the materials!

Just a little backstory we have a 13yo son with dyslexia & 9 yo son with speech delays. We took the pre-test and after the 3 of us decided to work through all of Volume I to help fill in any gaps from over the years!

So far we have made it part way through in the last few weeks & the boys are loving it. Breaking the numbers apart & actually visualizing the numbers working together has been a missing link! While we have only just begun I am happy to report that it is going better then expected & I anticipate us moving on to Volume II before long!

Thank you for an easy to digest curriculum that has no nonsense to it. Simple, Easy & Fast is what my boys were needing!

Have a great day!
Renee & the Alarcon Boys!

I wanted to let you know that the Geometry book is going very well. My son is really interacting with the material and learning. Unlike the previous book we tried, this one is making sense to him. It is very encouraging. Thank you. ~Jennifer Dages

JENNIFER GAVE AN UPDATE ON JANUARY 20, 2016: My son just said that he has learned more in the 1st 11 chapters [Volume 7] than in his past 4 years of math combined.

November 13, 2015

I have been using the Learn Math Fast books with our 2 children since Feb this year. In 9 months short months, we've almost finished book 4 and I've just ordered the remaining 3 books in the system. Originally I ordered the first 4 books because I wasn't sure I wanted to invest in all 7 in case the kids didn't love them (been there before). Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend others order all the books from the get go. I have been really impressed with how simple they make everything. My kids both learn quite differently, but these books work great for both of them. We generally do 1 lesson per day and they say things like "well that was painless". Apart from the fact we really like the books, I've been very impressed with the customer service we've received too. Friendly and helpful and fast. Thanks so much. I'll continue to recommend you. ~Mellissa

First, wanted to tell you how much I like your series. It is just plain common sense that is missing in most educational books today. You have cut out the c**p and boiled it down to the basics and how to learn them quickly and easily. ~Jonathan Byrd

Thank you, than you, thank you! My daughter is telling me she is finally"getting" math. She said that she is finally understanding it and actually enjoys doing her math lessons!!!! I never thought I would hear her say that!!! And she is actually ASKING me to get all the remaining books for her to do!!!!! I just cant thank you enough!!!!! ~Lyn Warmka

July 15, 2015

Thank you for writing these books! My daughter and I have been using many different math programs (some of them pretty expensive!) over the years but she got frustrated and overwhelmed by all of them fairly quickly. We have been using Learn Math Fast since January 2015 and we LOVE them! For the first time in a long time my daughter is not overwhelmed by math, she actually understands the lessons, and she can follow your explanations and the solutions if she gets something wrong. By herself. The lessons, worksheets, and tests are relatively short, very easy to understand, and she gets them done quickly. Thank you, thank you, thank you! We will purchase the next level as soon as we are done with this one. ~Heike

... I have been asking my high schooler to read just a bit of the book each day. And I love the “Oh! NOW it get it!” type exclamations I am hearing...

...Another resource which we just began using this year and will continue to use until our youngest has finished his schooling is Learn Math Fast. This unique math curriculum is designed for easy implementation at home, either with a small amount of parent input, or in a self-directed manner with an older child... It is without a doubt the most effective math curricula I've seen and the seven volumes are very cost effective. The beauty here is that these paperback books are non-consumable. You just go to the website with your code and download the appropriate pdf files for the worksheets and tests that your child needs. - Valerie at Seven Times the Fun http://www.sevenkids.net/

I am 39 and math has always been intimidating and confusing for me, but your book is a lifesaver. I didn't know if homeschooling would work for us because I didn't know if I could teach math but thanks to you my kids are catching on and so am I. We will definitely be sticking with LMF all the way! ~Raiza

"We are using your books for the first time this year and I have to say I am really impressed so far especially with my 7th grade son. He was at least 2 years behind in math due to struggles in multiplication and fractions. Six months later he is nearly finished with book 4. I thought six months was too fast to be honest, but once he started to get it he just flew through the books. I actually had to slow him down so they would last longer. It's one of his favorite subjects now because he feels like he knows the answers, he can't wait to grade his work since he is confident it will be a good score. We are looking forward to the next books.

I just found this comment on Amazon. It was written in March.

I have been very pleased with this math system. I never expected it to make such an extreme difference nor as quickly! My 8 yr old son with mild ADHD has NEVER completed a page of ANYTHING without being prompted to "move onto the next problem/question". I walked him through his first page on day 1 but on day 2 he flew his work without any help or errors. Last night he asked for a page to do for "fun". I can't say enough good things about this system. Love it. ~Amazon Customer

My oldest took his community college placement test last summer after completing your system and placed solidly in pre-calculus. Thank you for the boost! ~Florence

Kate ( just turned 17) just had her first day of a college math class called "College Algebra" and she is conflicted because she feels it is too easy. She feels she has had the material before. The only algebra she's ever had are your two books! ~Terry M.

We just got done with day 1 and the kids said, "We love it!" My older son wanted to do another lesson but it was almost 9 p.m.! Thanks you. ~Amy M.

I have had the privilege to try the Learn Math Fast system out with my struggling math student/daughter who is entering 3rd grade this year. We were ready for something new. We used to struggle and argue through math and now that has all changed. I had high hopes when I received my copies of the Learn Math Fast System Volumes, 1 & 2. I was not let down it turns out it is even better than I had originally even imagined...

This system is really fast, it’s not just a name it really does work. The First volume which is 275 pages will teach first to third grade math. Yep 3 grade levels!! After your child has successfully completed just 2 workbooks they will have completed all the way through 6th grade math. I had thought about starting her in the middle of volume 1 in the level that I thought she was at which would be multiplication, but I am so happy I didn’t because she not only strengthened her addition and subtraction skills, she learned a ton of new tricks and is now adding mostly in her head, even big numbers…amazing!! -I am learning new methods of math too, my math has never been strong, but now I have new tools to do the basic math I need in my everyday life.

-These books are so easy for her to do even without me. If your child can read they can teach themselves math with this technique. It is all broken down and explained very well.

I purchased your books recently and my eldest daughter who dreaded Math now claims that Math is her "favorite subject"! Thank you so much!!...After years of trying nearly every system I am very happy to share LMF is working for my kids, they are actually getting somewhere now and things like fractions and pre-algebra are actually making sense!! 🙂 Thank you for your books!

We purchased the Learn Math Fast system back in 2010. Our daughter Courtney excelled at nearly every subject except math. She had begun to avoid it because of her struggles. It was honestly the only thing holding her back from graduating. This system was exactly what she needed. It gave very tangible, every day ways to think about math. She's flown through it, and is graduated at age 13! We had tried many different curriculum's, but this is the ONLY one that made things click for her. We also have 2 other kids. Both sons. Both adopted. Both named Alex. Our youngest, or "little Alex" was adopted from the Foster care system at birth, but was prenatally exposed to multiple drugs. We were told we should "expect" developmental delays. But Just as with Courtney, Little Alex has done amazing with this system, and is also excelling at math with the use of the Learn Math Fast system. Math is actually one of his favorite subjects! "Big Alex" joined our family as a teenager and had received a very poor education before coming to live with us. Not surprisingly, the Learn Math Fast books have helped him make up several years of missing education in a very short period of time, and he was able to graduate on time. I often find myself wishing more people had access to this way of teaching. I too struggled with math as a young person, and find myself marveling at how these books seem to make sense of it all in a simple, clear, straight forward fashion. My kids also prefer to learn on mastery, and not repetition, this system is perfect for that. I think this system would work well for nearly all learning styles, and keeps math at a fun, tangible pace that keeps kids interested by the way it is taught to them. No more counting on fingers!

After trying ever math program I could think of - and trust me there were many - I finally stumbled onto Learn Math Fast.  I was hesitant, because nothing else had worked for my math challenged 5th grader.  First, I was concerned that the program recommended starting with Volume I and I was afraid this would 'deflate' what little confidence my daughter had with math, having to start at the beginning.  I was also concerned because what if this didn't work either?  It was just fabulous that there was a sample lesson on the website that I could download and let her try.  She loved it and most importantly she GOT IT!  I order Volumes 1-4 as a set.  My daughter continues to love doing this math program and she went through Vol 1 and 2 in one year!  She begins Vol 3 with this school year and will be finished, I'm certain, with Vol 4 before she finishes 8th grade.  That is HUGE for us.  She was still struggling with basic operations before this program.  While the program itself is mastery based, and not spiral, it works for us because finding 'review' resources online is free and easy and doesn't require her to get bored with what she feels is tedious repetition!  It is the math program we will continue to use the whole way through!  I highly recommend this to those that have tried everything else and are comfortable with a mastery system.  A real bonus, for me, I understand the lessons too!  As a non-math master myself, it was very important to me that I could understand the lessons that were being taught to the student so I could provide any needed assistance.  To tell the truth, I feel like my math skills have improved greatly since we started this program and I'm looking forward to learning Algebra all over again.  I think I might actually understand it this time around!

Hello JK, Just thought you'd like to know that Charlotte will be the Valedictorian of her GED Graduation this year! Hers were the highest scores of all the GED graduates who signed up for the Graduation Ceremony. 🙂 There's no way she'd be there if it wasn't for Learn Maths Fast! Those books took her from being a Maths Hater to being a "please can we have an Algebra Lesson today" person. 🙂 Thanks so much! 🙂

Deb sent us her daughters "before and after LMF" test scores.

Greetings JK! It seems like forever since last we chatted. Hopefully, in the interim, your shopping carts have been filled with orders. I am still recommending your program with great gusto and sincerity!!! I have attached Nia’s test scores from last year and this year so that you can see for yourself how real the results have been for us. She believes that she is now a math genius...and that is PRICELESS! It may also mean that she grabs a four-year scholarship. She’s in the final round, but we won’t know until September. Keep your fingers crossed for her. lol I never tire of saying that we are your NUMBER ONE FANS! Thank you so much. Looking forward to Geometry...and Trig. Have a great rest of the week, Deb

I'm a little sad that this is the final book in the series. [It's not] My son, Dalton, has done so well working through the books. They are very easy to comprehend and explain math in a straightforward manner. I wish your books went a little higher as he will be a college student in another year. Your books have been the best math curriculum for our home schooling needs!
Thank you again!
Karen from Clearwater, Florida

LMF Replied: No need to be sad, I'm working on high school geometry right now. It should be done this summer!

March 12, 2014

I would just like to let you know how great this math book is! Easy to understand. You are speaking to me, the student, in the way you say your words, and I understand. I've had other math books, where it reads like a group of math professors, all trying to outwardly teach the student from the blackboard, not from over the shoulder. Thank you! We are both very happy with the curriculum. Savannah went from hating algebra and ready to quit school to loving algebra and can't wait to start the next lesson and the next book. ~Sunni (mom) Savannah(daughter) taking algebra 1 this year.

Our customer, Deb Esposito, was so pleased with the Learn Math Fast System, she posted this message to her Homeschool Group:

Just wanted to share a math curriculum that has worked extremely well for us...most importantly, it allowed us to move through math fast, and with high retention! We have used Saxon, which is a solid curriculum. However, it was becoming tedious for my daughter. We have also used Math-U-See, another wonderful program. We have also done a “baby genius” program. This, too, worked well, but failed to impart the “why” of some of the higher level concepts. So, in the end, she could do lots of really impressive complicated math problems, but had little understanding of what it really meant.

Then we found “Learn Math Fast”. It is a math system developed by a homeschool mom. It is the method by which she taught her own son, which enabled him to begin taking college math courses at 16. Great marketing story...but does it work? Boy does it ever. I have a child who went from “Math is not my favorite subject!” to “Can we do math now?” (I also use Critical Thinking Company’s Math Detective series to ensure she has plenty of opportunities to apply her growing math skills.)

For reinforcement and review, I had her start at the beginning of the Learn Math Fast series. Even with an extended (3 month) visit from my mom and tons of other schedule disruptions, she has breezed her way through pre-algebra, elementary geometry and is scheduled to complete high school algebra within the next two months. (I generally have her run through each book twice. For me, not her. lol) To test her competency, I also had her complete “The Great Course’s Mastering the Fundamentals of Math High School course. She aced it...and I’m sold on the Learn Math Fast system!

Next Fall, at the beginning of my daughter’s eighth grade year, she is looking forward to the tackling H.S. geometry book that is scheduled to be released....if you are someone who has a child who is bored with the pace of math, but picks up concepts easily; or, like me, you have a child who has hit some glitches that threatened math confidence; or you have a child who just doesn’t want to sit still; or you are both crying your way through math; or maybe you are having a hard time recalling that math of long ago—this just might be the curriculum for you. Even the language of the book is warm, straightforward and oftentimes very humorous. It can be used independently. But, the units are short and sweet, so we do them together and it doesn’t overwhelm our day. I’ve rambled on and on because we truly have been blessed by this curriculum. In fact, I contacted JK Mergens, the author, to tell her so ..I thanked her profusely...As it turns out, Learn Math Fast has a referral program. It’s a nice gesture, but, quite frankly, I would have shared this for free. In fact, I have friends who are already happily using the system after hearing of our success. ~Blessings, deb esposito

Mommy Bloggers are known for reviewing lots of different curriculum. A handful of them have even reviewed the Learn Math Fast System over the past two years and many of them decided that LMF was just the ticket for their homeschool. Not only did they review our books, but they added them to their everyday curriculum and are still using it! Below are links to some of the updates from those families.

A Slice of Homeschool Pie Review: 2nd Grader Doing 3rd Grade Math with The Learn Math Fast System

Golden Grasses Update

February 5, 2014

Hi There! I am a VERY happy customer of Learn Math Fast. In fact, I have recommended your system to quite a few homeschoolers. ...my 7th grade daughter and I are sailing through Book 4 and excited about beginning the Algebra...Did I mention WE LOVE YOUR BOOKS!!! No more tears and mostly 100s with a lowest score of 94! Not bad for a professed “math is not my thing” girl! Thanks for sharing your gift of math. ~ Deb Esposito

At first I was only going to purchase at least one Learning Math Fast book. Yet, I was blessed with some help purchasing books for homeschool, so I decided to get them all. Then, I thought about how big of investment they would be and considered returning them. How ever, I completed a lesson on long division with my child and she got it in a single lesson. Now I have been attempting to teach this to her for years. Just a little about me I have a Masters degree in Museum Education and a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I have taught in public schools, museums, alternative learning sites, and have been homeschooling for several years now. My child has so much more confidence in doing long division. She has not stopped working problems and explaining it to others. She said I never thought it was this easy to do. Thank you! I would love to do a review on my site about your product as well. ~S.I.

We purchased your books last year when my daughter got stuck in her in math.
I want to say your books have been a life saver to us! This year she
started volume III and is doing well. I just purchased your last book for my
oldest daughter who had already completed Algebra I and Geometry in
another curriculum. She loves your approach! ~Becky

I currently use Learn Math Fast, and am a huge fan of the simplicity with which JK explains complicated math. She has a unique approach that anyone can use and teach. I used it with my oldest child to catch up in areas that she lacked, and it was so effective that I have chosen to use it with all of my children. If anyone has ever used Apologia for Science, it reminds me of that style of lessons. JK is also very accessible via email, to answer any questions, or give extra assignments (which she has done for us on several occasions!). Thanks, Celeste from Alabama

I never dreamed I'd be teaching Algebra in the 6th grade (I took it in the 9th). My son wanted to do Geometry over the summer and finished it up last week so Algebra it is. He loves your books. ~Becky from Alabam

June 5, 2013

I found out about your books through an email you sent to our homeschooling e-group. I'm so glad you joined our group and made that post. My daughter has dyslexia and at 14 talking numbers still caused tears. I needed a creative route... I ordered all 4 books immediately. It wasn't fast at first, and Kate took one academic year to finish the first book... After finishing book 1 Kate took the summer off and when she returned in the fall , she found she needed to repeat Book 1. While working through Book 2, which focuses on fractions, I again added my own special drills...Once she had mastered books 1 and 2 she finished book 3 and 4 in just a few months pretty much by herself. I ordered book 5 on April 11, 2013 and and she has finished it already ( it's June 5th today.)
It has been a pleasure trusting your books and methods, they have a lovely voice and we felt like you were with us....
...it is amazing and empowering that she has come from crying when asked to subtract 5 from 12 to to completing the Algebra Book 5 so quickly. We were prompted to stay with it until Kate got it ;by your helpful guidance. Your notes to the student about repeating until parts were easy where important to us. Kate took those to heart. We viewed and trusted you as our teacher and were determined to do just what you advised!
Please feel free to add my testimonial to your website and sign with my full name!

...last night my 16 yo came to me and said, "Mom, I want you to know I really like math now. It's my favorite subject. I finally know what I am doing." We started with Book One in April and he's almost completed the Geometry book. The Pre-Algebra book required a great deal more time than either of us were expecting. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when he gets into Algebra 1. Thank you again for all your work in this area. ~Florence B. Rockville, VA

...my son Michael, who was basically an unschooler throughout "high school" managed to get a perfect score on the math portion of the GED. Kind of funny actually and a very credible score on the ACT (total score 25). Of course, he only studied math (using your books and others) for about 2 months before GED and three months before ACT. Just goes to show how much time is wasted in school learning the same thing! ~Michele

May 15, 2013

Thank you! We are enjoying the program so far. My son has dyslexia, so math has been a challenge. The pace of this program is perfect. Hoping that it continues to go well. Blessings,Angela in Atlanta

I wanted to thank you for this product. I have 10 children and many of them learn differently. I have a few children that just were not getting Math, no matter what books I pulled out. On a whim, I decided to try these. They had a 30 day money back guarantee, but the book had so much use in the first 3 weeks, I would have been embarrassed to return it. Even my children that "get" Math have grown with the timed tests and the geometry book. Most days he timed part is a great challenge for them- trying to get to the next one. Mainly my note is about the child that was struggling the most. She will never be a mathematician, but she is understanding and it is very seldom that she needs my help because of the self explanatory lessons. She probably will never love math, but the basics are sinking it. I thank you for making this available for us. God Bless you!

Eleven months ago Kim sent this email to Learn Math Fast: Hi, I have a boy that has Muscular Dystrophy and has learning problems in Math. He is going into 9th grade in the fall. He is about 3 maybe 4 years behind in Math. Do you think that this curriculum will help him? I have tried Touch Math and Math-U-See and he is still struggling and just can't understand Math.

Kim purchased the Learn Math Fast System and then sent this email on April 5, 2013: This Math curriculum is the best! My son has always struggled in math, until I found Learn Math Fast System. He is in the 9th grade and is almost caught up to where he needs to be. We started in August 2012. Thank you so much for writing this curriculum. ~Kim Simpson

March 27, 2013

I truly believe your system was a God send for my family. My daughter was just not getting math and I was unable to convey to her the way I learned so we tried many a different ways and methods. Nothing was catching...until Learn Math fast.
Now she is a wiz at math. Thank you all and know I am telling all my homeschool and non home school friends about this system.
~The Fullers

March 13, 2013

Just wanted to thank you for such a great product. Your customer service is top-notch. I ordered a bunch of books and didn't quite understand what I ordered. The email exchange I had with you was very helpful and I appreciated your patience and kindness.

Second, this program is working wonders for us. We purposely delayed math in our homeschool, waiting until 5th grade to start a formal study of symbolic math. The other programs I tried made my 11yo feel "stupid" and incompetent because of all the cartoons, songs and other fluff used to make the programs more palatable for young students, and the lack of clear concept explanation.

LMF has us flying through the Vol 1 concepts, which is the whole reason I delayed teaching symbolic math to begin with: So we could speed through the first 5 years of math in about 6mo with a strong understanding of the why, not just the how. Instead of plodding through a lot of extraneous busywork and manipulatives, we are getting down to the meat of math and quickly grasping the concepts. We easily complete a lesson in 1-3 days. Everything is explained so clearly. It is also helping us get our our 3rd grader, who really wanted to try public school and enrolled in March, up to speed quickly.

I have purchased a lot of different curriculum and have disliked most of it for one reason or another. This (along with AVKO Sequential Spelling) is one of two curriculum purchases that I don't at all regret and will use in its entirety. Thanks for writing it. God bless, Kimm

February 13, 2013

...my son and I got through the algebra 1 and geometry books in less than two months...best stuff out there.
He had no real high school math (homeschoolers) and wanted to take his GED (end of March) and now wants to take the ACT...so
your work is much appreciated... I am not only a homeschool parent (son is now 20) but also a homeschool private teacher with a Masters degree from Bank Street. And while I LOVE doing math with kids, I have been challenged finding reasonable texts such that I can learn along with my son (used to be very good at math but its been awhile). Most books are simply impossible for the density of text and less than transparent explanations). The way you designed these books (both content and visually) make them extremely useful for homeschool teaching (probably teaching in schools too). Just made more sense to me than anything else I have looked at...don't get me started on [Brand name omitted]...I know everyone likes this series but the upper level books are painful to plow through. I just don't "get" them...very confusing. Anyway, look forward to getting the next volume.
~Michele

February 6, 2013

We are really enjoying your curriculum and my daughter seems to "get it now". I only wish I would have known about this with my son.
My daughter finished her math quickly today and had every problem correct. She said she actually felt smart. This never, ever happened with any of the other curriculums we tried and we have tried many. That is why I was so excited to see your new book coming out. Thanks again for providing such a wonderful curriculum. ~Dedra

January 14, 2013

Found this anonymous post on an online forum:
My daughter had been struggling with fractions as well. Someone on here mention a math program called Learn Math Fast, so I went to check it out. Come to find out, the sample they have on their website was for fractions. I printed it off and went over the first couple of pages with my daughter. She got to the worksheet, and got all of the problems correct on her first try. Later in the day, she came to me and told me she had finished all the sample pages, and that it was easy. I couldn't believe it! A child who hated frations, and not very mathy, doing math on her own, and then telling me that fractions were easy! Here is the link for the sample page.

December 18, 2012

We are really enjoying the Learn Maths Fast technique! Thank you so much for making it so easy to teach -- and to learn.
...My 16 year old is really enjoying breezing through Book 1 at a few minutes of maths each day!
And her brain is benefitting from it: her mental arithmetic is improving and she can see it too!
And as I'm teaching it all, mine is improving.
I'm also fascinated to see that you are teaching a lot of the things I was taught in school in England. 🙂

December 12, 2012

We are enjoying the program and my son made the statement that "before I just did the math, now I understand why you do the math! He is quite good at following directions and computations, however, I knew he was missing the why you do it. Thank you and we are anxiously waiting for the Alegbra and beyond books to be released! ~Rox Ann

November 27, 2012

Thank you Thank you! Like other testimonials, we bounced around once we got into high school math and My son should have been advanced but because in the high school maths we were having a hard time finding something he was starting to lose his edge and become frustrated and discouraged. Learn math fast enabled him to get caught up and back on track. He will be finished with his high school math before his Junior year! My daughter needed to get caught up after same experience and having loop holes. Learn Math fast fixed her loop holes and now she too is back on track! Thank you Learn Math Fast! ~Kellie

November 20, 2012

I was so thankful to find the Learn Math Fast system just when my 13 year old was really needing a way to catch up quickly without a bunch of fluff. I love that it uses money as the basis for teaching ... so practical! My son is really getting the times tables, finally. So far we have been thrilled with the method used in the books and my son's success.
He can work independently and still really understand what he's learning. It was such a blessing to have books that look more serious and not little-kiddy even though they begin by teaching through some of the more basic concept.
Thank you! ~ Heather

November 20, 2012 Email Received:

I promised you an update as I had my daugh work through the volumes. she is currently done with vol.1 and almost done with vol.2. She had a lot of resistance to beginning with vol.1 b/c she is 16 yrs old and felt it was so baby stuff. We explained to her the necessity of it b/c we had switched her math so often that she had too much advice from different sources so needed to re-boot her with math in its entirety from one source. So it worked..she flew through the vol. with minor errors, more from carelessness than inability . She did bog down a bit at the end with long division with dec. She is doing well in vol.2. and finally understanding decimals and percents. so this is good. She no longer seems to have an attitude that she is doing baby stuff, she just does it and has success. So I think if the child can get past that attitude part and see they need to come away with confidence they will have success. I will continue to post you as we complete each volume. P.S. I just had a fellow homeschooler give me an SOS call about her son and math and said ok, here is what i would do, instead of switching out to this or that curr, only to be in the same place a few mos from now. I believe she is convinced to give you a try...
Blessings ~ K.K.

Email received from Valerie:

I purchased your math program for my daughter. She is working through the program and enjoying math now...I am interested in the next book to purchase. I am going to use these books with my son too. Thanks for your great math program...I would like to add that my daughter has really struggled with upper level math and would get so discouraged and frustrated. I wanted to give her a break from Algebra 1 and start the new school year with a total review of everything so that she can build up are confidence again. I have tried so many programs and was very interested in purchasing Math U See but I couldn't purchase all the levels so she could review everything in math. Then I found your program online and I am very pleased with everything that it covered within the books. My daughter feels so much more experiences in dealing with percents and measurements than she has ever been and she made the statement that this knowledge has been very helpful with her new job and shopping for things on sale too. She has a better attitude and I think it will really help her to continue with Algeba 1 and 2 and/or Geometry in the future...She is moving quickly through the books and wants to get through the whole program so she will be confident for her testing this school year. ~Valerie

...This is our first week doing Vol 1. She's almost halfway through. I asked her how she likes it. "I love it. The best part is I know my answers are right." I asked her how she could be so sure. She replied that everything is so clearly explained, she knows she has the concept.

Bits and pieces from a review by www.HomeschoolHeartandMind.blogspot.com Read the full review on Susan's website.

This is David. [Picture omitted] He’s my firstborn. He’s smart. He’s spunky.
He’s good at figuring things out in his head.
But he hates math.

In fact, elementary arithmetic convinced him that he was stupid. He just
couldn’t memorize those math facts and I despaired of him being able to catch
up before high school.

After all the searching and researching and trying of different math
programs---we’ve used Right Start, Making Math Meaningful, Math Mammoth, Keys
to, Math on the Level, JUMP…
...I found the solution. Learn Math Fast is the spine for his 7th
grade math program this year. Let me tell you about why this
program is uniquely suited to my child’s situation...
Learn Math Fast is different from any other math program I have
ever tried (remember all those programs I mentioned earlier?). While
many math programs aimed at the elementary grades are heavily problems
based, LMF begins each lesson with text addressed to the student in a relaxed,
conversational style, explaining the concepts quite clearly and giving plenty
of examples.
My son has always (always!) complained that he wishes math books would
just talk to him, rather than giving him endless problem sets. If you
have a child who learns well by reading, this program is worth a look for that
reason alone. I’ve found that worktext-based programs (like Math Mammoth, for
instance) were too brief in their explanation and seemed to crowd the page with
problems.
If you child doesn’t learn well by reading, it’s very easy to read the
chapter and then teach it, using the examples given with real-world
manipulatives (we also used this approach with success).
Another other big difference in LMF: it uses our
base ten system to optimal advantage in its use of money as its main example
for just about everything! This is truly brilliant.
I have always used coins a lot for things like counting and adding, and, of
course, adding up money, by LMF takes it further than that. Coins are
used to explain fractions, percents, decimals, and how they all relate to one
another. And there is emphasis placed on seeing the connection between those
three topics. They are covered one right after the other, so the student can’t
help but put them together, unlike many programs that might cover some
fractions one year and then not cover decimals until the next year.
LMF will teach you math tricks with a purpose.
What I like about this is that not only does the author teach you the trick,
she explains to you why it works and they are genuinely useful tricks. For
instance, how to quickly mentally calculate 20%, 30%, or 40% of a number...
But probably the biggest different in LMF is the tightness of focus. There’s no
extra fluff, here...

I received the book [Volume 1] in the mail a few days ago and opened it up to see what it was like. I was very pleased with what I saw and most of all very excited, because I think, FINALLY, I have found something that will get my kids learning at a faster pace, and with such a simplified format, it will be much less stressful and time consuming. I will be starting them on it today and will let you know how things go in a few weeks. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to put this wonderful math curriculum together, and for sending it to me so fast!
Thanks,

...I am also getting ready to order your Book V and would like to order another Book 3 for my other son... As a
refresher, I spoke with you on the phone for quite a while before I purchased your program last year and my youngest son has absolutely enjoyed it. I also incorporate some Math on the Level and it seems to unite beautifully. I am hopeful to switch my older son to LMF, as I had him work through your Book II this past spring. He really excelled with it and grasped his fractions wonderfully! Math is NOT his subject. 😉
Thank you for such an amazing program!
Blessings, Amy from Texas

The Learn Math Fast Program is an invaluable resource for those of us that teach math daily. It takes even the most complicated type of math, and breaks it down into a clear, step-by-step process. It will facilitate the teacher in their need to differentiate and teach the standards, and it will give a parent the ability to help their child with their homework. Math does not need to be an anxiety producing experience. This program will show you how this is done.

Here are some highlights of Kathy's review.
We have only worked through the first few lessons in Chapter 1 due to it being Summertime and Gwyn just starting to move onto 1st grade material. But what we have done so far she finds very enjoyable. She is so very proud of herself when she get the problems correct. I have paged through the rest of the book and I must say I am upset I didn't learn math this way. And I am sure as I go through the book with the children I will be learning and freshening up my math skills along with them and who knows maybe even begin to enjoy math.

A few other things I really enjoy about this book are:
-The way decimals and place values are taught using dollar bills.
-The way that multiplication is taught. The book does not focus on memorizing ALL the times tables.
-The measuring cup and spoon graphics that are used to teach measurements. This makes what they are learning very practical.
-The way that multiplication and division are covered together.
-The way that coins and dollar bills are used throughout the book which cover money learning skills.

I can't tell you what a blessing you are to our family. You have made math easy for me to teach and the children to learn. Learn Math Fast is a blessing! ~Celeste

I found this anonymous comment on www.thehomeschoolingmom.com:

My oldest son has struggled with math and while in public school he became 2 grades behind his recommended grade level (despite the hours after school each day that I’d spend with him reviewing his lesson and helping with his homework). We found [Learn Math Fast ]this last year...and immediately began using it. We recently tested for academic compliance and he his test revealed he has improved and is working at the recommended grade level for math. It has really taken the fear out of his math studies and boosted his confidence...He is really excelling and our 3rd grader enjoys it too, but math has been his favorite subject and continues to come easy for him.

Below are bits and pieces of emails received by Jacquie. She is referring to her 10 year old son Owen.

. . . I printed a stack of the fraction pages out for him, explained that he hasn't seen it before but wanted him to give it a try. That was it! He took the pages and worked through them over the next few days…I walk out to the table in the morning and his finished work is waiting for me. Amazing!

…My son said, "Oh, I understand math now...this is so easy!" And he was referring to the fraction pages! What a change of heart. I believe God was at work here.

…Owen says you talk to him and you tell him what he needs to do and he does it. I have found in the past he does better orally than with paper and pencil because he doesn't like to take the time to write all the numbers down completely. But by golly, he turned in his fraction page with only one number missing! (Didn't put the 1 in front of the 4 in 14.) Whoo hoo!

I'm not sure if you have heard of Life of Fred…Well, Owen announced today that he even liked it more than Life of Fred. I have to say that shocked me because all the kids (and grown-ups like it)! I'm not sure how, but you are reaching him.

Thanks so much for many reasons! ~Jacquie

Thank you for these books!!!! ... This was my post on Facebook right after I purchased the Algebra book.

"My comment below on this math program is not an advertisement or a way to link to something to get something free or anything like that. I am really this happy with the program and have to let everyone know." "This year we switched to Learn Math Fast Books and I am amazed at how quickly my kids are learning math. I don't normally rant and rave about a product, but I love this program. When we stopped using ABEKA, I didn't want the learning speed to slow down... just the endless worksheets. These books increased the pace and now I think my kids may pass me in math in no time. Trinity [10 1/2 years old] is one test away from being done with book 4 (basic shapes, area, special triangles, circumference, diameter, volume, Pythagorean Theorem, hypotenuse, the 3-4-5 triangle secret, and the metric system). Emma [7 years old] is 1 chapter away from being done with book 2 (fractions, mixed numbers, improper fractions, percentages, decimal numbers, and cross canceling). I just ordered Trinity the Learn Algebra Fast Book. I'm sure she will sail right through it so I will have to buy the Algebra 2 book for this summer/fall...My daughter, Azriel, just will turn 5 this month and I hope to start her on book 1 now that she is reading. ~D.W.

JK: I'll share a couple of things that were said just today:
"Mom, I think I might LIKE math!" (Lora, after doing timed test #17 in 27 sec.)
"O.k., so maybe I can do this after all..." (Anna, looking at the end of the book, previously dubbed "not happening").
You cannot imagine the relief, and even excitement, this program has provided. Math was "the dreaded subject", the thing we all hated, but knew we had to do. While it would be a stretch to say my girls now race to grab their math notebooks, they now sit down with no complaints, and with total confidence that they can do whatever the next lesson is. I have tried several math curricula in our homeschooling, but none as straightforward, easy to use, and SUCCESSFUL as this one. Thank you for sharing it with us--you have changed my daughters' outlook on math.
This is no exaggeration, JK...your work is an academic blessing for us. Thank you again for having the courage, energy, and entrepreneurial spirit to make it available to those of us more "numerically challenged".

We got the books and I have been reading each volume. I must say I was super surprised that I even learned something while going through volume 1!!! At first glance I was thinking to myself that the first half of the volume 1 books was going to be too easy for my daughter who is 10 but amazingly after lesson 1 and it taking her over a minute on the times test, I realized she didn't know basic math facts!!! I was shocked. We worked on them yesterday and she was able to pass the times test in 30 seconds by the afternoon. She was very proud to see her time improve. Also I gave my 13 year old the placement test for volume 1 expecting him to get a 100% on it and to my surprise he missed half of all of the problems. This was a HUGE eye opener for me. I am going to have him start volume 1 as well and see if we can figure out just where he stopped mastering concepts. ~M Hardin

Hi there!
I have volumes I and II of the system... Brown covered books so I think these are the first issues. My sister and I are in college and we've forgotten almost EVERYTHING about math since highschool since its been a few years. We're almost through volume II and its helped us so much. What we like the most is how it's not cluttered with filler; it's just clear explainations, examples, and practice tests. I did indeed want two copies of volume III. We need to place in elementary algebra on our placement test, so we figure that this volume will help us get there. We like it enough where we want our own copies of this next edition. Having said that, thank you for this system! I have no idea what we would do without them. They have truly been a God send! Cheers

My son has tried other Algebra programs and this is the first one where he retained anything…Having the worked solutions is one of the perks for me and one of the things I was looking for in a new program. I have been able to understand some things I have long forgotten just by looking at the solutions. Invaluable!!!!! Thank you. Jill

...Lesson 5: Subtracting and adding higher numbers-he figured out the pattern without me telling him. Addition and subtraction was a snap for him. I think he's got it. Lesson 6: Using dimes for +/- he finds it easy and he feels he's learning it better than when public school taught it and he's noticed his own personal improvement with subtraction. Lesson 7: He worked through subtraction easily and borrowing easily. H.B..

Cathy Duffy's Review of the Learn Math Fast System:
The Learn Math Fast System is a unique approach for teaching math that condenses the process while still stressing conceptual understanding. Presented in only four volumes, the content covers the essential math content for grades 1 through 8...A student completing the first volume will have covered the most important math skills taught through third grade... With only 199 pages of text, worksheets, and tests this is an efficient way to cover basic computation skills.

Content of this book [Volume III] is similar to some of what you find in other texts for grades six, seven, and eight, and it goes farther than most in its instruction on slopes and intercept.

Using this system, students should be ready to tackle algebra at least by eighth grade if not sooner. The thorough and clear explanations might also make this an appealing option for parents with a poor math background who need to learn right along with their children.

The Old Schoolhouse Magazine Review
of The Learn Math Fast System
By Dr. Anne Margaret Wright

...There is much to appreciate in this clever math series. The material is written in an engaging, conversational tone that is easy to understand. The books begin with simple concepts and slowly build to much more complex ideas. There are frequent short tests to check progress--more of a double-check than a long, tedious, pressure-filled examination. The materials are very encouraging and non-intimidating, which is especially helpful for students who are a bit nervous about math...

...The series is also not written with a specific age in mind, so young students can work through the books with help from mom or dad, and older students (or parents) can brush up on their math skills independently. The books would also be a great source for review of concepts later after moving on to more advanced math. Now don't expect fancy books with color photographs! The books themselves use a very simple format with basic black-and-white photos, but the pictures and graphs are plentiful and helpful. Throughout the books and the Answer Key, the materials include the answers and fairly detailed explanations...There are also some nice articles on the website about homeschooling and teaching a fidgety kid.

Perhaps my favorite part about the Learn Math Fast books is the frequent exhortation that if you don't understand, move back to where the math was easy and start over. In other words, keep working with a concept until it is easy and then move on to the next concept. Math principles build on each other, so it is extremely important to not move on until you understand! Many students run into problems by being forced to move on in math before they understood the last concept. Our family would recommend this simple but powerful series of math books, whether you have young children just starting out in math, or older students who need a solid review of important concepts!
